Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Horoscopes are popular all over the world. The reasons for this are many, yet put simply, people are intrigued at the prospect that the stars and planets do actually have an influence on their life, and they do. Gaining any kind of guidance, insight and inspiration, not to mention entertainment, is exciting and can help keep life interesting as well help you to achieve your goals and to be more aware of the growth process for yourself and those you love. Traditionally, newspapers have included Horoscopes merely and purely for entertainment and many still do. However, as Astrology grows in popularity so too are the Horoscopes and they are getting better all the time, though many remain vague and disappointing because the Astrologers writing them are not truly aware of the science of writing Horoscopes.

Born on the Cusp?

When reading your Horoscopes please note that persons born on or around the cusp and who do not know their actual Sun Sign might read both entries, especially the second one. For example, if you were born on February 19 your Sun Sign may be Aquarius or it may be Pisces. In this case you could read both Aquarius and Pisces. The “cusp” (border) between signs can occur anywhere between the 18th, especially in the case of the Aquarius/Pisces cusp, and the 24th day of each month, especially in the case of the Leo/Virgo cusp.

After a while you might realize which sign is actually yours. Again, you can read both, yet the sign that follows will certainly have a strong influence because the Sun “progresses”* into that sign.

In order to definitely know your Sun Sign, you may have to get an official Birth Chart  from an Astrologer. To do so you will need to know your birth time along with the full birth date and place.  If you do not know your time of birth and cannot obtain it from family records or family memory, you may decide to make the effort to get it.  (Having an approximate birth time helps if an Astrologer is consulted to determine the birth time through a process called "Chart Rectification". This is a true art that requires that the Astrologer be both intuitive and precise in the use of prediction techniques).  You can do this by one of the taking one of the following steps:

1) Approach the hospital where you were born. With computers, this information is becoming more readily available. If you are lucky, they will give it to you and for free.

2) Contact Vital Statistics in the Capitol City of the province, state, county, etcetera where you were born.

3) Some people have found success by using a pendulum or through muscle testing. Most Astrologers will want to test the time provided from such methods.

Aries Overview

Every person is a unique composite of all the signs of the Zodiac.  The art of Astrology is oriented towards emphasizing the strength and purpose of each sign within any individual birth chart. Therefore, the following descriptions are purely introductory interpretations of each sign.  In other words, although a person’s Sun Sign is very significant, due to other factors considered on the basis of interpreting the ‘whole’ chart, which includes planets, aspects, and signs on the angles, a person born with the Sun sign of Aries, for example, can be strongly influenced by any one or more of the remaining eleven signs and in fact this is generally the case. Aries is the sign first sign of the Zodiac, is the first member of the Fire Element triplicity followed by Leo and Sagittarius, is of Cardinal Quality and is ruled by Mars.  The Zodiac glyph is the Ram, which is symbolic of daring, bold and pioneering leadership and can alternately be interpreted as a fountain of lava spewing upward from a volcano. Energetic and enthusiastic about new directions, People born with their Sun sign as Aries are at their best when taking an active lead in exploring new territory, whether literally or figuratively and championing meaningful causes. The General Influences of a Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 1st, 2008 for the 12 Signs  (Effective for 1 year!)

 

The descriptions for each Sun that follow below on page 2 written in Horoscope fashion provide a brief overview of the influence of the Solar Eclipses in general and particularly provides insights upon and sets an example using the August 1, 2008 Solar Eclipse. This does not take into account close aspects to natal planet positions because I cannot know these unless I see your Natal Chart. However you may know your Natal Chart and the positions of the planets enough to recognize that the eclipse has made a conjunction, square or opposition aspect to one or more planets and/or to the angles in your chart. Also, it is based on the Solar chart verses the actual Natal chart. Both the Solar and Natal charts are effective in chart analysis, but the solar chart alone will not provide as much detail.

The August 1st, 2008 Solar Eclipse took place at 9 degrees Leo 32 minutes in the Tropical Zodiac. If you have Natal Planets or Angles at or close to that degree (2-3 degrees of orb on either side is generally given) in the Fixed Signs of Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio particularly, then you will be experiencing the impact of this eclipse especially over the next, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months as the Full Moons at those times will form hard aspects to the Eclipse Moon position. Planets or Angles in your Natal chart at 9-12 degrees of the fixed signs will be especially impacted while those at 6-9 degrees will be impacted but probably to a lesser degree. The effect of an eclipse that strongly impacts one’s natal chart is said to last years but the best perspective it to say that it is long-term perhaps bringing about changes that will change your life somehow permanently. As with all events in life, how the impact of an eclipse is handled is ever important. Positive influences presenting opportunities may be missed and negative influences can be better understood and handled without reaction, confusion and stress in general, etcetera.

 

Generally, the eclipse will occur in one of the houses of your Natal Chart. The house placement of an eclipse and New and Full Moon’s, for that matter, offer a general indication of what areas of your life will be influenced. Again, close contacts to natal Planets within 2-3 degrees especially will be impacted. The basic difference between an Eclipse and a New or Full Moon is magnitude. Eclipses are simply stronger in effect and are more deeply woven into the fabric of one’s destiny. There are deeper levels to it including looking at the overall eclipse pattern, the root eclipse of the Saros family it belongs to and other significant planetary aspects active on the date of or up to a few months before and after the eclipse.

 

            In light of the fact that I am focusing upon the Solar Chart, the chart which is used when writing Horoscopes, the following offers some additional insight. Since the August 1st Solar Eclipse occurred in Leo, its impact for each Solar Sign (anyone born with the Sun in the Sign as listed below) is as follows:

 

1.      Aries will be linked to the 5th House and the Sun.

2.      Taurus will be linked to the 4th House and the Moon.

3.      Gemini will be linked to the 3rd House and the Mercury.

4.      Cancer will be linked to the 2nd House and the Venus.

5.      Leo will be linked to the 1st House and the Mars.

6.      Virgo will be linked to the 12th House and Jupiter and Neptune.

7.      Libra will be linked to the 11th House and Saturn and Uranus.

8.      Scorpio will be linked to the 10th House and Saturn.

9.      Sagittarius will be linked to the 9th House and Jupiter.

10.   Capricorn will be linked to the 8th House and Mars and Pluto and Juno.

11.   Aquarius will be linked to the 7th House and Venus and Pallas Athene.

12.   Pisces will be linked to the 6th House and the Mercury, Chiron, Ceres and Vesta.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

New love interests with a strong romantic twist, artistic inspirations and creations and perhaps even the birth of a child could be the result of this eclipse. At best you will feel happier, more playful, more alive, sexy and expressive. Investigation into important investments prospects is also likely. In this instance especially, it may be wise to look closer at the exact aspects on the day of the eclipse. Negatively, life could become much more dramatic and you will not be allowed to merely be a spectator. Egos will flaunt in one manner or another, perhaps your own especially. Stay balanced by laughing more, perhaps especially at yourself. Find reasons to be grateful engage in creative projects and, where necessary, keep the drama mellow.

 

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

The focus will be squarely on the home front and real estate in general. Creative interests, home based businesses and projects may need fertile ground to sprout. This could include making or taking space. Can you turn a room or the basement into a studio? Perhaps you want or need to move. Can moving provide more creative space and offer the inspiration you need? An additional family member is also a distinct possibility; a pet, roommate, in-law and so on could qualify. Either way, creating a deeper sense of security is likely. Adding more skills or creating streams of income will be top priorities. Issues or important experiences and contacts with your parents or lessons surrounding parenthood are very likely.

 

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

This passionate eclipse pattern is bound to help you see yourself and the world and in the world in new ways. The past is just that and you are ready for some fresh starts. Clear the clutter from your heart, home and mind to make way for the new. New love interests are very likely. These could come in the form of places as well as people. Creating a greater measure of freedom somehow will prove important. You will also want to have and feel the freedom to act spontaneously. New courses of study or learning ‘how to’ is very likely. Perhaps new neighbours are moving in are doing some renovations themselves. How can you respond in a positive manner? Overall, improve communication skills and get organized. Knowledge is power!

 

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)

Adding to your list of skills and talents is a likely response to this eclipse pattern. This includes making investments. You may want the security of a more solid foundation. Adding to existing steams of income is quite likely. How much money do you have, want and need? Perhaps you want to bring in more or maybe you want to simplify and downsize. Either way, new perspectives are bubbling. Alternatively, you may simply want to dive in deep to discover latent skills and talents. Sometimes, all we need is within us and all we have to do is make the effort to tap our latent resource. Inspiration, encouragement, determination and training to this end are also a good idea. You may feel the urge to explore new or undiscovered facets of your individuality.

 

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)

A whole new you or aspect of your identity has been seeded by this most recent eclipse in Leo. You may be expressing a new level of confidence and determination and possibly a new look and image. Your ambitions are rising yet you will be challenged to focus and be disciplined. At deeper levels you are wise to awaken to and clear potential blocks lodged in your subconscious. Some of these may be inherited and have their source in your early home life as a child and youth in general. If you are taking a pioneering approach you are on the right track. You may find yourself up against some opposition but persevere and be willing to spend the time, energy, focus and money as necessary. If you do you should experience a measurable increase in your popularity and income flow by the early New Year.

 

 

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)

The urge and possibly need to withdraw, rest and retreat was activated by the Solar Eclipse in Leo. Creative work behind the scenes represents a more pragmatic attitude, however and this may suit you better. Again, some measure of discipline and calculated risk may be required. Aiming to diversify in your social abilities and offerings is also likely. This will come in the form of making investments. These should be more around energy to stimulate more response from others whether this is your intimate partners or your clients. Marketing strategies are a good idea now. This may be where and why less socializing and more time in your creative den to launch more official campaigns for success constitute your best response.

 

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Stimulation surrounding friendships, groups, clubs and associations with others in general are all likely themes linked to this eclipse. Who are and are not true and good friends? Making contributions of some kind is also highlighted. Whether it is our friends or more engaging and official involvements, life requires us to give back. With the right attitude this could prove very satisfying. You may be on the look out for new associations and friendships. To this end you are wise to carefully consider what you truly need. In any case, this is a good time to reach out and be counted. Changes in your lifestyle in association with these choices are also very likely. Aim to move closer to realizing your hopes, dreams and aspirations by way of appropriate associations.

 

 

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Changes in your public and professional life were activated by the Leo eclipse. Aspirations for more recognition are quite likely. While you may want or feel you deserve a raise, what might be particularly at issue is whether you feel creatively inspired and purposeful with your work. Who you work with may also be at issue. Increased opportunities and/or liabilities for or within existing partnerships characterize the themes associated with this eclipse. Investment dealings, lawsuits, inheritances, legacies and taxes are all areas likely to be activated. Opportunities or liabilities associated with said areas are at issue. The sale or acquisition of land and other immovable’s is also likely as are possessions with measurable value. You may want to liquefy your assets and free them up for more options. Looking to a wider market for potential buyers is very possible. One way or another, you want to bring about change and completion to existing affairs. Questions and concerns about security are at play. Be aware of how, where and why your own attitude and perspective may be rigid and even stuck. Get your stuff or yourself out of the way and make things move.

 

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)

Moves and changes on relationship fronts will become very evident with the influence of this eclipse. You may want to increase the reach and scope of your influence. Making others aware of your presence may prove important to both them and you.  Networking and building a foundation that reaches out beyond your immediate borders is likely. Publishing, public relationships and generally getting the word out is an efficient, diplomatic, graceful and effective manner will be a priority. This may include being willing to see personal blind spots so ask for and be open to feedback from others. Perseverance is a key word. If you have been diligent in your efforts you should see initial results by mid September and the New Year especially. Invest and take calculated risks.

 

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

Your work, health and lifestyle in general will undergo change as a consequence of this eclipse. New routines, habits, approaches and methods are featured. Time management, efficiency and extra attention to detail are highlighted. Pressures from without maybe a major source of activation making you focus more and work harder than usual.
