Introduction to Michael O'Connor's Horoscopes

Almost everyone reads their Horoscopes. Many resonate with them, some disdain Horoscopes, and many people at least  know something about them, enjoy and appreciate what they can offer. I consistently receive positive feedback for my Horoscopes for their accuracy of insight, inspiration and helpful guidance. Currently, Astrology and Horoscopes are very popular. Thanks to the internet, people can read any amount of their favourite Horoscopes on any given day and compare.  I write 3 Horoscopes, a Yearly, a Quarterly and a Weekly. While sun-sign Horoscopes are the proverbial "tip of the iceberg" in Astrology they do have a rightful and purposeful place in our society.

A very common complaint is that many Horoscopes are vague and superficial. Second, how can we divide the entire population into 12 groups? These are fair and valid observations and questions. However, I have been writing Horoscopes for over 15 years and people from all over - as my Horoscopes are in a variety of Newspapers and websites - have always and continue to comment upon how accurate the Horoscope is for them, at least occasionally. Some even say “your Horoscope is bang on for me every week!”  Some ask how I do it and others affirm that in practicing Astrology I have found my niche. That is the key. I am a professional Astrologer and I understand how it works – reading an Astrology chart is like reading a blueprint which is an art and skill in itself. Consequently, I can write the Horoscope with confidence that it will prove accurate, in some way, for many people on a regular basis. Further, through my years of experience I have come to understand how and why even a Horoscope based on a person's Sun Sign can actually offer such indepth and accurate insights. There are 2-3 other signs that you can read each time you read a sun-sign Horoscope that will add depth to it. Hint: yes, one of them is your ascendant but the other is not your Moon Sign, it is another sign or two.

By the way, the fundamental reason Astrology in general and Horoscopes in particular work is due to the Holistic Nature of Reality and of Astrology. In turn, the term Holistic implies an all-pervasive Spiritual intelligence and presence. (See "Astrology and the Poetry of Nature" and "Learn Astrology" both in the Workshops section.

Another part of the equation is that I recognize that reality is essentially holistic in nature and I appreciate the archetypal blueprint behind outer reality. This is a reflection of the basis of Astrology. I could also add that I have long held a very keen interest in human nature and this was the motivation that saw me through college and university and has and continues to lead me to books, teachers, workshops and contemplations upon the nature of reality and consciousness. That Astrology works, and it does, is another aspect of my quest to understand how and why it works.

Please Note: Sun-Sign Horoscopes are not on par with the quality of insight one can gain from a formal Astrology Reading with a professional astrologer. However, they are a source of entertainment, insight, inspiration and guidance that people can benefit from on both inner psycho/spiritual and outer practical levels. This is especially the case with my Horoscopes.
