Thank you for visiting Michael O'Connor's Sunstar Astrology!

This section covers the following 2 guidelines for reading your Horoscopes:

  1. How to get the most out of reading your Horoscopes
  2. Born on the cusp?

1.   How to get the most out of reading your Horoscopes

Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Horoscopes are popular all over the world. The reasons for this are many, yet put simply, people are intrigued at the prospect that the stars and planets do actually have an influence on their life and they do. Gaining any kind of guidance, insight and inspiration, not to mention entertainment, is useful and can help keep life interesting and help you to achieve your goals. Traditionally, newspapers have included Horoscopes merely and purely for entertainment and many still do. However, as Astrology grows in popularity so too are the Horoscopes and they are getting better all the timem though many remain vague and udesless because the Astrologers writing them are not truly aware of the science of writing Horoscopes.

Yes, there is actually a science as well as an art to writing Horoscopes that even many qualified Astrologers do not realize. The secret to understanding this science lies in a fuller appreciation of the Holistic nature of the universe in general and Astrology in particular. I understand this science and this is why so many readers tell me that the Horoscopes that I write are so “bang on!” week after week and they have been telling me this for over 12 years!

As an Astrologer, I recognize that while the Horoscopes can offer insight, guidance and inspiration of a very useful kind, peple can never really benefit as much from an actual personal and professional interpretation of their birth chart or Horoscope (map of the hour and day). However, they can help especially when you are aware of the one or two or three other principle signs to read each time you read your Horoscope.

To obtain knowledge of the other one to three signs of the Zodiac that you should read for even greater insight, guidance and inspiration when reading the Horoscopes, please call or send an email to Michael O’Connor. *Please note: This information is FREE to SUBSCRIBERS or there is a small fee for non-subscribers. In both cases this information comes with your colourful birth chart.

Now imagine having five Horoscopes to read and examine on any given day! Imagine that these Horoscopes all worked together covering a period of one year with the largest covering an overview of the whole year, another covering three months or a whole season, another for each month, yet another for each week and even another yet for each day all designed to work together to help you gain greater self-awareness, guidance, insight, inspiration and entertainment. Add to this list additional TIPS at the top of each Horoscope that either edcuate you more about the actual Horoscope you are reading, or provides facts, updates and other useful informaion about Astrology in General or current events in the world or spiritual guidance etcetera and you can probably imagine that with all this useful, personal information you could quickly learn to tune into your own natural rhythms and intuition. 2.  Born on the cusp?

When reading your Horoscopes please note that persons born on or around the cusp and who do not know their actual Sun Sign might read both entries, especially the second one. For example, if you were born on February 19 your Sun Sign may be Aquarius or it may be Pisces. In this case you could read both Aries and Pisces. The “cusp” (border) between signs can occur any where between the 18th, especially in the case of the Aquarius/Pisces cusp, and the 24th day of each month, especially in the case of the Leo/Virgo cusp.

After a while you might realize which sign is actually yours. Again, you can read both, yet the sign that follows will certainly have a strong influence because the Sun “progresses”* into that sign.

The official textbook dates for each sign are as follows:

Aries: March 21 – April 19
Taurus: April 20 – May 20
Gemini: May 21 – Jun 21
Cancer: June 22 – July 22
Leo: July 23 – August 22
Virgo: August 23 – September 22
Libra: September 23 – October 22
Scorpio: October 23 – November 21
Sagittarius: November 22 – December 21
Capricorn: December 22 – January 19
Aquarius: January 20 – February 18
Pisces : February 19 – March 20

*Progressions are one of the most common forms of Astrological Technique used to decipher future events. Progression charts begin with advancing the Sun forward 1 degree for every year of age.  If you born on or near the cusp, the Sun would have progressed into the Sun Sign that follows within 1 - 3 years after your birth. The younger we are the more impressionable and it is common psychological knowledge that the first two years of life are when we are the most susceptible to the influence of our environment. This sensitivity or impressionability remains quite strong even up to seven years of age. I like to use the metaphor of wet cement that takes seven years to completely dry – the first two being the easiest time to leave marks and permanent features. This is why those of you who were actually born on the cusp within two degrees are very much the blend of two consecutive signs.

Knowing which sign you are actually and technically are according to Western Astrology is very helpful.

Knowing the exact time of birth is generally required for definite accuracy. Many people do not know and cannot obtain this information. If you are one of these people, consider the following 4 steps that you can take:

1) Contact the actual hospital that you were born in. If they do not still have such information in their files, they will be able to offer you leads, the most obvious being Vital Statistics.

2) Contact Vital Statistics in the Capitol City of the Province or State, or as the case may be, where you were born.

3) Ask someone who is very good at dowsing to try and determine your birth time. Though most Astrologers will want to double check the results of this process, it has proven to be quite accurate on occasion. However, to double check for certainty the only tool I know that can confirm the time deciphered from dowsing is an Astrology chart measured using planetary transits and progressions.

4) Consult a professional Astrologer who is practiced and able to “rectify” your birth time. The art and process of birth time rectification can be very challenging, yet is a necessary skill for serious practitioners.

The Process of chart or birth time rectification generally implies questions asked by the Astrologer about certain characteristics that best describe you and when certain key events occurred in your life. Some Astrologers always double-check the birth time, even if it is given with a confident time like 12:37 pm, for example. When a client offers a birth time that seems rounded off to the hour, half hour and even quarter hour, this sends a message that the time given may be only an estimated or ‘guesstimated’ time. The fact that a person’s exact birth time can be determined based on key characteristics and events and their date and time is testimony to the power of Astrology to measure destiny.
As might be imagined, this process can take some time, yet it is very interesting and educational and valuable in itself if it is done well. So, charges for this service are generally incurred.

Please note, it can cost anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 and possibly more to obtain a birth record from Vital Statistics and sometimes even the Hospital (though I have known of some people who have obtained it from the hospital of their birth for free) and it can cost about the same amount with a professional Astrologer and possibly more depending on the case due to the memory and/or self-awareness of the client.

I am well practiced in this art can help you to decipher the exact time of your birth. If you are interested in having your birth time rectified, please contact Michael O’Connor by phone (1-888-352-2936) or email (sunstar@netidea.com) with your full birth name, place, date and some events and dates that stand out as major experiences or turning points in your life.

On a final note, since the exact birth time is not entirely necessary to gain valuable awareness, insight and guidance into your personality and destiny, you will definitely benefit from getting your birth time rectified.
