Monthly Newsletter for October 2006 Astrology, numerology and other such metaphysical systems have been created from observation of natural cycles of nature. When we understand that we are a part of nature and we too evolve along spiral cycles of growth, we can understand how we can use these tools to tune-in and connect with the flow of our destiny. In our current ego-will world, this kind of thinking has lost appeal but it is re-emerging as we face the consequences of our materialistic assertions. This is not a new story and can basically be traced back to when Roman Catholicism gave way to the realities of Roman Empire building and its subsequent divide and conquer politics. Of course, not all Catholics or Christians recognize this or would subscribe to it. However, the proof in the pudding is quite easy to see as the church declines and its corruptions are revealed. Autumn is here and we here in the North West are currently enjoying an Indian summer. The actual summer season was as wild and exciting as I thought it would be and as I mentioned in the Newsletters and Astro Weather reports for the past few months. Now, we are in for the next phase of our annual journey as the last quarter of the year ushers in the decreasing hours of daylight. The Astro Weather for October offers some extra insights that you may wish to read. These reveal some major changes that are changing our entire culture and will, hopefully, instigate more honest and wise representation in government. My process has been intense as the Solar Eclipse of last month did in fact impact my chart and my life according to prediction. My partner of almost 7 years informed me just a couple of weeks prior to the event that she had decided to move to another city. Her reasons were many including better opportunities for schooling for her daughter. While we love each other dearly, our compatibility has never been stable enough to deepen our bonds for the long term. We always felt this was true but destiny carried us this far and we both grew and matured measurably and remain very close and loving. In my books, quality is more important than quantity and we certainly have and continue to share that. However, the break and the move have been rather intense all the same and, even if you are prepared for a blow like that, it blows all the same and I have had to endure the impact. Consequently, my focus has been challenged. If any of you have felt ignored in nay way by me over this period I apologize and trust you understand. I am still taking appointments both in person and by phone, but am not sure yet if I will follow through on plans to do workshops teaching people how to use a Pocket Astrologer. If I do, I will do just a few in the latter half of October. This is such an amazing tool and way to learn Astrology first hand. A Pocket Astrologer allows you to actually follow the cycles of the Sun and Moon in particular, and as you advance in your studies, of the remaining planets as well. If you would like to learn more I invite you to visit my site and read more about it under WORKSHOPS. Blessings for a safe and fulfilling month of October. For more background, please refer to my Astro Weather report for October 2006. Astro Weather for October 2006 October is an interesting month. It is the 10th month of the year, according to our current calendar system. It used to be the 8th month when the New Year was seen to begin in March along with Spring Equinox, thus the root “Oct” which refers to an octagon, an 8 sided shape. Anyway, we now understand it as the 10th month and, from a numerological standpoint, this month offers us a sneak preview of what next year will be about in terms of Growth Cycles. Growth Cycles are determined by simply adding the year in question, 2006 for example, to the month and day of one’s birth. If your were born on July 21, for example, you would add the numbers as follows: (the month of July = 7 ) so, 7 + 2+1+2+0+0+6= 18, & 1+8 =9 so you would be in a 9 Growth Year and this would imply endings of one kind or another. So, September for everyone is a month of extra emphasis because it is a 9 month and 9 added to any number = that number. A person in a 9 Growth Cycle year would be in a 9 month is September. Have you noticed how intense and active September can be? Oh yes, once you know your Growth Cycle Year, you can determine your Growth Cycle Month by adding the number of the month to the year number you are in. You can also determine any Growth Cycle Day number once you know the month number you simply add the number of the day to it and reduce any double digit numbers to a single number. You can read more about this in the “Articles” section of my site. Back to October then, this is the month when 1 is added to our Growth cycle year and it adds to the number we will be in the following year. So, October is a sneak preview month. On a more basic level, October is about new beginnings as well as dealing with the aftermath of the September peak of energy. Coming to terms with the results of September and initiating new assertions and directions is generally necessary and an ideal attitude for October. There are three particularly strong and obvious themes in terms of planetary activity this month. The first is the Full Moon on October 6th. The second is an exact and final Square Aspect for this cycle (90 degrees and generally charged and poised to assert new realities and creative expressions) between Jupiter and Saturn and the third is another Square Aspect between Pluto and the Lunar Nodes. I will briefly outline these aspects as they are at the forefront. First, the Full Moon is the Harvest Moon and is the culmination of a powerful Solar Eclipse which occurred within less than 24 hours of the Vernal Equinox. The Full Moon is a culminating time, like ripe fruit dropping from trees or a wave at its peak just before it crests, curls and crashes. While there is a Full Moon 13 times a year, or almost, not all hold the same charge. There are 3 basic ways to determine its charge. The first is the most complicated and includes looking to the New Moon seed to decipher what will culminate. In this case, the New Moon seed was a Solar Eclipse which adds much more depth, complexity and eventful purpose than an average New Moon. This Moon seed indicated endings on relationship fronts. (For more on this please refer to my Weekly Horoscope for September 17th, 24th and October 1st.) The second consideration is the Zodiac Sign and its element that the Full Moon occurs in. This month the Full Moon is in Aries. Aries is a fire sign and Fire Sign Moons are considered the most stimulating in terms of physical activity. (Water Full Moons are the most emotionally stimulating.) So, with the Full Moon in fiery and reactive Aries, we can expect a lot of howling and excitable energy. The third basic consideration is the actual aspects to other planets that the Moon makes when it is exactly full. Once the generic picture is clear, we can better understand the impact it will make upon individual persons, nations, institutions and other legal entities. This Full Moon occurs at 8:13 pm PDT on October 6th. The aspects it makes include a harmonious Sextile (60 degrees) to Neptune. This brings a rather romantic, poetic, sensitive and psychic influence to bear. Imaginations are strong and the overall tone is inspirational. Meanwhile, however, the Full Moon will be in Opposition Aspect (180 degrees and generally difficult requiring mutual respect, recognition and cooperation to handle the delicate balance) to both Venus and Mars which will both be 5 degrees away on either side of the Moon, from our angle of perspective here on Earth. So, we have a harmonious aspect from Neptune but challenging aspects from both Venus and Mars. You may get a glimpse into the challenge of Astrology in ‘weighing’ the various influences at any given moment in time. Hard Aspects can certainly be stimulating in a positive sense and with Venus and Mars involved, the overall tone of relationships, beginning with the inner meaning of the Solar Eclipse at the New Moon, is further accented. Venus in Opposition Aspect to the Moon implies challenges in expressing one’s feelings and affections. Disappointments and moodiness are quite possible. It is generally not a good time for organizing social events. Of course, if there are no real issues to contend with in a person’s relationship, then this influence will not be obvious. The opposition Aspect to Mars will be simultaneous and it too stirs passions, often anger, or at least impatience. That Venus and mars are in harmony oriented Libra helps to soften the tone yet since the Moon is in fiery and reactive Aries we can expect at least some added spice the likes of red hot chilli peppers. So, should you go ahead and attend the party? Generally, my answer is yes for what could well turn out to be a very hot night. On the other hand, if you and your beloved or other close friends are not doing so well, or find yourselves feeling irritable, just remember what the charge of planets is supporting. I would like to quickly mention that Mercury will be in Scorpio all the while and this implies that people will be saying much less than what they are thinking and feeling and this Sign placement might even prompt them to do even further investigations if any certain actions or behaviour merit their time and energy. In other words, people keep secrets…among their closest confidents. Now, turning attention to larger realities, I would like to begin with the Jupiter/Saturn Square. These two planets are considered the ‘social planets’ in Astrology. Their 20 year cycles together are watched closely especially by Astrologers with particular interest in economics. This particular Square is waxing and therefore implies new beginnings that come with significant assertion. (Waxing Square Aspects can be likened to swift and swollen mountain streams in spring time, relentlessly flowing) While there is much to say about this aspect, I will say here again what I have hinted at earlier this summer, this aspect will trigger economic changes of a noticeable and measurable kind. Since this cycle began back in May of 2000 when Jupiter and Saturn formed a conjunction at 22 degrees and 45 minutes of Taurus we have seen some dramatic changes in the economy. The most basic changes include the fluctuating price of oil and gas, the rise and fall of the U.S. dollar, especially in relationship to the Canadian dollar. Just last year the exchange rate was 50 % and now the Canadian and U.S. dollar are almost at par! Thirdly, the real estate market in North America has increased by up to 300 % and in some cases even more. That the U.S. dollar bills are becoming more colourful is another indication of this change. The claim is that it will reduce the possibility of counterfeits, but many perceive it as a gradual step towards merging the economies of Mexico, Canada and the U.S. If interested start with this link newmoney . I am not an economist or economic historian etcetera, but the angular relationship between Jupiter and Saturn that occurs on October 25th signifies an assertive and sudden break with the past ushering in economic changes that will be felt by everyone, especially over the next 3.5 years. It is worth noting that this aspect will occur exactly 90 degrees, a Square Aspect, away from the point of the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn, as mentioned earlier, in late May of 2000. It is also worth mentioning that this hard Square Aspect occurs with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mrs and Jupiter all in Scorpio. Scorpio is the sign of shared resources and money and is directly related to the tax bureau, banks and insurance companies. The final aspect I would like to review is that between Pluto and the Lunar Nodes. Pluto is currently at 24 degrees Sagittarius, just 2 degrees away from exact alignment with the Galactic Center. I devoted some attention to this event in the Horoscope for the year. If interested, please refer to this article under Horoscopes on my site. Whenever Pluto is in aspect to any point in a chart, that point or planet undergoes a transformational process. With the Nodes, the emphasis is slightly different as they hold their own considerable weight and they indicate the likelihood that the forces of power (Pluto symbolizes power), in this case, the power of our beliefs and overall world view that influence one’s culture (Sagittarius). In other words, this aspect indicates that we are challenged to courageously go forward despite any desires to go back. Go forward into what you may ask? Go forward into the unknown, of course. This theme is especially accented since the North Node is in Pisces, the sign of mysticism. With Neptune, the ruling planet for Pisces in Aquarius, and Uranus, the ruling planet for Aquarius in Pisces, these two continue to form a “Mutual Reception” Aspect (both planets occupying the other planets home sign) and will continue to do so until late winter 2011. This is good news in terms of these changes being smooth and for our overall good. The world is changing rapidly and a global village is being born. Usually pain is part of the birthing process but we can make efforts to reduce the pain by being courageous and aware and proactive as opposed to frightened, blind and reactive. This Square Aspect between Pluto and the Lunar Nodes will occur on October 24th. Perhaps the most import action from this aspect includes reminding governments that they are meant to serve the people and not simply control them for the sake of pursuing their own personal and private agendas, which, unfortunately, they seem to believe is their role. The perception and behaviour of royalty continues, especially in places and positions of political power, despite the processes of democracy. That’s it for this month. I am open to your comments and feedback. Please refer to my weekly Horoscope for more current planetary activity and updates. |
