Astro Weather - Moon Watch for December 8-16, 2006 This feature adds scope and dimension to the Weekly Horoscope. While the Horoscope offers personal insights for self-awareness, attunement and direction the Astro Weather - Moon Watch lends a more detailed look at the planetary movements, entry into new signs, aspects to other planets and, above all, aspects from the Moon to the Planets. The times for the Moon Aspects especially will be listed allowing you to really watch the Moon and its energy patterns from day to day and week to week. You will soon discover that the influence of the Moon can be felt on a daily basis and will also synchronize with outer events. Watch for this in addition to your Horoscope on a weekly basis. For the bigger picture scope on things for December, please refer to the Astro Weather – Moon Watch for December 1-7, 2006. I am offering this new format as an ongoing endeavour to provide updates that actually keep you updated! So, now I am creating an update for each week instead of for the whole month. My aim is to stay in closer contact with you and to keep the information as fresh and current as possible. The first week of each month will host a longer introduction and overview for the whole month. Also, the first issue of each month will show the New and Full Moon dates and their general energy patterns at the top. For each subsequent week these will be posted on the appropriate corresponding day. I did not mention it above, however; I encourage you to take note of how you feel and what is going on in relation to the Moon Aspects. I offer an introductory class in Astrology called, “Living in Tune with the Sun and Moon” which both provides an excellent ice-breaker into the world and, more specifically, the code language. Once you know the code your confidence and enjoyment of working with Astrology will accelerate measurably. For now, simply follow where the Moon is with the listings for each day below and take a quick note. If you do you will soon realize that your moods and your life are actually flowing according to measurable cyclic rhythms. The Moon rhythms are particularly noticeable, especially for those of you who are more sensitive and intuitive. The authorities generally deem Astrology to be superstition and feel that their perspective is objective and true. Actually, their perspective is subjective, biased and superstitious not to mention hypocritical because they take a belief approach to Astrology, in this case a non-belief approach, rather than a scientific approach which includes conducting their own experiments, which begins with daily observation. So, I invite you to conduct your own experiment and see and feel for yourself that watching the Moon rhythms is the first step to proving that Astrology works; to proving that we are one with nature and not divorced from it as out linear, logical, rationalizing ego minds delude us into ‘believing’. Here is the list of days of the second week of December. You may wish to print this for quick and handy reference. Again, each week is highlighted for each sign in my Weekly Horoscope. When you notice synchronicities take note and please share them with me by email. (Please Note: All times given are for PST)
8th – Friday – Moon enters Leo at 3:52 am. Moon Sextiles Mercury at 4:38 am, Trines mars at 7:03 am and then Trines Jupiter at 9:52 am. – The overall pattern of this day is very harmonious, flowing and playful. At worst, it will be challenging to stay focused on more serious tasks requiring our full attention. A playful, artistic and entertainment oriented mode of approach will work the best. Leo is a romantic and sexy player who really knows how to put on a show and turn up the heat, and is usually very generous as well – ooh lala! Tune into the Moon to make the most of this day and make a game with an edge of friendly competition, perhaps working with the clock and offering little prizes, to get things done. The whole day and evening are excellent for fun, frolic, and romance and partying. 9th – Saturday – Sun Sextile Neptune at 9:44 am. The Moon is in opposition to Neptune at 1:05 pm and then Trine the Sun at 1:21 pm. Mercury forms a Conjunction with Mars at 6:28 pm – The overall tone of the day looks harmonious and uplifting. The Moon/Neptune Opposition is generally confusing and challenging in close personal relationships, however its duration is short and will clear quickly like a few clouds blocking the sun on clear day – emotionally speaking. While The Lunar energy is most easily felt and the aspects between the planets are less noticeable, the Mercury/Mars Conjunction may prove noticeable as Mercury is, at least metaphorically, referred to as the ‘Moon of the Sun’. This will brings a charge of energy to our expressions and since they are aligned in exuberant ‘exSaggitarius’, there will plenty of wood and air to make the fire roar hot and bright. Party time! 10th – Sunday – The line-up today is extensive. Beginning with a Moon conjunction to Saturn at 3:46 am followed by a Trine to Pluto at 6:05 am then Mercury Conjunct Jupiter at 8:59 am and Moon Trine Venus at 12:35 pm then Square Mars at 8:31 pm and then Square Jupiter at 8:59 pm and finally Square Mercury at 10:27 pm. The Moon is V/C at 12:35 pm and enters Virgo at 1:31 pm. Added to the list is the ingress (entry) of Venus into Capricorn at 9:33 pm. The overall tone is rather sober and serious. The Moon in Leo all morning will add a noticeable degree of drama to the plot but people should generally regain full composure in the afternoon due to the emotional self-control of Virgo. Generally it is a good day to delve deeply into projects and be willing to give to situations generously – self-indulgent attitudes that effect others may well backfire. Although it is Sunday, aim to get things done, be pragmatic with your focus and you may well achieve a good deal and be satisfied with your productivity by days end. 11th – Monday – The Moon is in Virgo, Mars Conjuncts Jupiter at 8:11 am and the Moon opposes Uranus at 11:30 am. The festivities of Friday and Saturday should be long over by now and if Sunday was the productive day it was designed to be (for this one) then those back to work will feel satisfied and able to handle the turbulent currents. Those of you who wanted the party to never end may remember the song, “I Don’t Like Mondays”. There is a time a place for things and if the pleasure remains too long it is no longer a pleasure. Aim for balance in your attitude and expectations. 12th – Tuesday – The Moon in Virgo Squares the Sun in Sagittarius, otherwise referred to as entering its last ¼ Phase, and by 6:32 pm it Squares Pluto. - This Moon Phase challenges us to change our perceptions and approach things from new angles. At best, it is a time to tend to projects that require our full concentration. The ‘authorities’ say the Pluto is no longer officially a planet, take notice of the intensity of this evening and ask yourself if your agree that this powerful planetary body has any effect on the overall mood and tone of the evening as the Pluto Square to the Moon brings repressed emotions of all kinds to the surface to be cleared. 13th – Wednesday – The Moon enters Lovely Libra at 2 am but then Squares Venus at 8:16 am Then forms three consecutive Sextiles to Jupiter at 10:49 am; to Mars at1:04 pm and to Mercury at 8:04 pm. While the morning may not be as close and cuddly as one may like and could, if fact, prove emotionally stifling, by mid morning things will prove much more and the rest of the day stands to be stimulating especially socially and perhaps also in terms of inspirations and intuitive flow. 14th – Thursday – The Moon in Libra makes only one aspect today and it is a beautiful Trine to Neptune at 1:51 pm. The overall tone should be pleasant even melodic, romantic and dreamy. Get done what you can in the morning and plan for an afternoon delight, whatever that can mean for you. Happy hour at least could prove uplifting and romance that begins today stands a good chance of enduring. 15th – Friday – The Moon is V/C starting at 7:33 am, after forming a Sextile to Pluto, and then only enters Scorpio at 2:42 pm. Mercury forms a Square to Uranus at 7:02 am. Some Fridays are easier than others and this may not be one of them. Murphy’s Law may be in full effect today. This is a good day to patiently endure and brings things to completion. It may well be wise to avoid making any major purchases at all today not to mention beginning important projects or embarking on adventures. Wrap things up and keep it super simple as you can. 16th – Saturday – Moon in Scorpio all day, Moon Sextile Venus at 3:50 am then Trine Uranus at 12:42 pm and then the Sun forms a Trine to Saturn. Aside from the Moon in passionate, sexy, intense Scorpio, the overall energy today is quite pleasant. Scorpio does have a way of bringing things to the surface and some of these may be rather emotional. Otherwise the emotional current has a strong romantic overtone. On the note of the Sun aspect, it confers creative and pragmatic thinking. Full Moon in December: December 4th at 4:25 pm PST at 12 degrees Gemini 43 minutes. The full Moon represents a culmination of energies that were seeded at the New Moon (Nov. 20 2:18 pm PST at 28 Scorpio 27 minutes). In order to understand the flower, we need to understand the seed. Briefly, the New Moon in Scorpio hosted the same stellium of planets that are now is Sagittarius in Scorpio, except Venus. The Sun, Moon and Jupiter in particular were very close together within 1 degree. Despite Scorpio’s dark reputation, it actually is also symbolic of spiritual self-mastery and the subsequent feelings and actions of unconditional love. In alignment with this theme, the Keynote for the Sabian Symbol for this degree, according to Astrological Avatar, Dane Rudhyar, reads as follows: Love as a principle of redemption. Admittedly, Scorpio and the processes of spiritual self-mastery require purification processes. These can happen deliberately and with intent as in an organ cleanse, or elimination of a certain food type from your diet, like wheat or sugar or daily or other addictive substances. On the other hand, it could include becoming more self aware and conscious as a means of changing perceptions, beliefs and attitudes of a more psychological nature. Of itself, the exact aspects surrounding the Full Moon on the 4th include a Square to Uranus at 1:21 pm PST. This is generally a disruptive influence. Independence and eccentricity often accompanies it and people can be restless, irritable and stubborn. At best, the disruption will serve to shift perceptions and awaken us to illuminating perspectives. New Moon in December occurs on December 20 at 6:01 AM PST. Of particular interest with this New Moon is the fact that it occurs just one day before the Winter Solstice (Dec. 21 at 4:23 PM when the Sun enters Capricorn) This means that the Winter Solstice is marked with the energies of the New Moon which are especially good times to consciously seed intentions. In any case, the New Moon introduces another cycle in the spiral. (Read the my Weekly Horoscope to gain more insight on what this implies for each sign) With a conjunction aspect to Pluto just a few hours prior to the New Moon (2:30 am) it is likely that the culmination of this Moon Seed (1st ¼ Moon on December 27th at 6:48 am PST at 5 degrees Aries and then Full Moon on January 3, 2007) will bring stagnant emotions and outworn habits to the surface to be cleared – a good time to commit to New Year resolutions in line with the purifications mentioned above. By the way, the key to overcoming a negative habit is to associate pain to it. To do so it helps to stand back and look at the bigger picture of your life. Also, whatever the habit and/or addiction, it has a bio-chemical root and understanding this can serve to breaking free because it helps you to not take it personally. A good video to understand this is called: “What the Bleep Do We Know”. Check it out! |
