Astro Weather for December 17 -23, 2006

(*Please Note: All times listed are for PST)

Before reading the Astro Weather for the week, which by the way are called the TRANSITS I hope you will take a moment to review this brief outline of hints which will make the information more useful and enjoyable and provide some extra background about Astrology and my services. The Astro Weather is general and just like the weather outside we all experience it differently. How we meet the energy of any given day depends on the following factors:

1)  Our overall attitude and especially our sensitivity to the celestial influences will play a part. If we do not know what to look for we will not see or feel much and each day may simply prove to be another day instead of a new day. Yet, when we do have an idea of what is going on we can both feel it personally and even witness it in others and outer events. This can assist us to tune-in.

2)   How the Planetary configurations and Aspects of any given day actually connect with your own Birth Chart and personal experience is the other most significant point to consider. This is where the generic weather is brought more fully to bear in any given person’s life. This is basically and in effect what a professional Astrologer is hired to do - to interpret the Birth Chart and the Transits and other techniques for interpreting what is going on in terms of cycles and make the information useful for people. These include, in addition to the Transits, Progressions, Solar Returns (Birthday Charts), Solar Arcs, Eclipses and other such techniques used to measure your life cycles for any particular given time period - usually people are interested in the Present and the Future, in this regard.

3)  Destiny and Karma are the other key words that hint at the depth and authenticity of Astrology. Altogether, these remind us and demonstrate that:

·  We are truly spiritual beings having human experiences in duality.

·  Nature is conscious, intelligent, loving, creative and purposeful and all pervasive. And, we are nature and one with nature and not merely in nature.

·  We have souls which take on physical bodies or re-incarnate many, many times as a function of the divine plan for us to evolve and mature as souls and this process can be understood with the words Karma (Cause and Effect) and Dharma (Destiny).

4)  The summary in bold at the top of each entry below for each consecutive day of the week is a translation of what is otherwise written in code in Astrological Calendars, Daytimers and Pocket Astrologers. These are growing in popularity as more and more people are awakening and realizing that they actually do work. In this respect Astrology proves itself on a more objective level, even though the observations are ultimately subjective based on our own experience. The ones I am aware of are Jim Maynard’s “Celestial Guides” www.quicksilverproductions.com (my personal choice) We Moon www.wemoon.ws and Llewellyn Books www.llewellyn.com .

I only outline the Major Aspects (Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine and Opposition) and do not use Minor Aspects (Semi-Sextile, Semi Square, Icnonjunct, etcetera) which some of these calendars include because they distort the picture in regard to V/C Moons especially. This translation in English, as opposed to code, will help you to learn to decode what is listed for each day and the interpretations are an example of probability offering a guideline and should not be considered as certainty or fact. The facts are the Aspects – the math/science part of the deal and the interpretations are just that – the art part of the deal. Thus Astrology is an art and science and is invariably interpretive. To want to scientifically eradicate interpretation is to eradicate the art of life. This is why computer generated astrology reports are less than 50 % of what a qualified Astrologer can offer to you – like a snapshot without the story. In other words details without a living context.  I teach a class called “Living In-Tune with the Sun and the Moon” which is further described in Workshops on my site. Please contact me if you are interested in learning how to follow a Pocket Astrologer, Astrological Calendar, Celestial Guide etcetera more effectively. (Each of these contains essentially the same information except some are more technical than others and some do not get to the point directly enough, for my interests. That is why I choose Jim Maynard’s)

Here then are the Astro Weather codes translated into English for the week of December 16 – 23rd.

16th – Saturday – Moon in Scorpio all day, Moon Sextile Venus at 3:50 am, then Trine Uranus at 12:42 pm and then the Sun forms a Trine to Saturn. Aside from the Moon in passionate, sexy, intense Scorpio, the overall energy today is quite pleasant. Scorpio does have a way of bringing things to the surface and some of these may be rather emotional. Otherwise the emotional current has a strong romantic overtone. On the note of the Sun aspect, it confers creative and pragmatic thinking.

17th – Sunday – The Moon remains in Scorpio and turns retrograde at 3:31 pm. At 1:33 am The Moon forms a Square to Neptune and at 3:31 pm another Square to Saturn. This energy pattern is significantly more emotionally charged; sobering and perhaps even depressing compared to Saturday’s festive energy patterns. Extreme sensitivity will be in the air all day and by late afternoon like a freeze after rain; a colder and potentially icy feeling will fill the astral sphere affecting emotions. Honour yours and others feelings yet maintain a sober focus on practical, harder realities as well.

18th – Monday – The Moon enters Sagittarius at 1:10 am. And while this generally brings good humour, whatever moods are felt they will be magnified. This could feel like a crazy day by the end of it with all kinds of emotions flying around both nervously and overconfidently. Sun Conjunct Pluto at 6:37 am and both at the Galactic Center is the big news. This seed event however may not be so easy to ‘feel’ unless you are significantly tuned-in. Its implications are of a long term nature. (Read more about this in coming Horoscopes) By 11:24 am the Moon conjoins with Jupiter and then Mars at 6:24 pm. By 10:09 pm it forms a Square to Uranus. Some days are ‘bigger’ in their effect than others and this stands to be one of them. Yesterday’s aspect to Saturn will linger all morning making it a very sober morning and moods may be rather serious and business like.  By mid to late morning the effects of Jupiter will come into plat bringing more confidence, optimism and perhaps even laughter. This mood will hover fro much of the day but by evening tempers could well flare and people will generally feel short tempered and reactive. This is a good time to take space from others somehow, live and let live.

19th – Tuesday – The Moon in Sagittarius makes a Conjunction aspect to Mercury at 9:38 am then Neptune at 10:21 am and finally at 11:23 pm form a Trine to Saturn. In between these rather agreeable transits,   Mercury will be Sextile to Neptune at 3:44 pm and Venus will Sextile Uranus at 7:30 pm. While Sagittarius energy is prone to honest and even blunt communication, the overall pattern of the day is very imaginative and creative. The morning may feel rather tense and this could provoke debate, judgmental attitudes and send opinions flying hard and fast, by mid morning the flurry of moods and expressions should calm down and, if things were not too upsetting, even prove to be a very creative day full of ideas, insights and epiphanies – a good day to be prepared and take note, brainstorm and strategize or simply express your self in unique ways.

20th – Wednesday – After the Moon Conjuncts Pluto at 2:30 am there is a New Moon at 6:01 am PST at 28 Sagittarius 32 and as soon as it does, within one second technically the Moon will turn Void-of-Course or V/C before entering Capricorn at 8:39 am. It is well worth noting that the New Moon will be within just 1 degree of the Galactic Center – the center of the Milky Way Galaxy from the vantage of Earth. The overall energy of this day could prove rather deep and mysteriously intense as the darkness of the New Moon is accompanied by Pluto and Capricorn energies – both very sobering for the Moon and our emotional states.  Of particular interest with this New Moon is the fact that it occurs just one day before the Winter Solstice (Dec. 21 at 4:23 PM when the Sun enters Capricorn) This means that the Winter Solstice is marked with the energies of the New Moon which are especially good times to consciously seed intentions, especially within 8 hours after the exact New Moon. Furthermore, the Winter Solstice is symbolized by the event of a New Moon thus making this years Solstice extra powerful both in and of itself and for the course of 2007 – A universal 9 year of which I will speak more in upcoming Horoscopes.

With a conjunction aspect to Pluto just a few hours prior to the New Moon (2:30 am) it is likely that the culmination of this Moon Seed at the 1st Quarter Moon on December 27th at 6:48 am PST at 5 degrees Aries and then the Full Moon on January 3, 2007 will bring stagnant emotions and outworn habits to the surface to be cleared – a good time to commit to New Year resolutions in line with an intention to clear, purge and purify in whatever manner feels appropriate. If you do not make conscious efforts and the need to do so is buried in your subconscious, you may have to confront these issues as they are pushed to the surface under the force of Pluto as this is the nature of Pluto the purifier. It is noteworthy to illustrate the synchronicity of this powerful seed event with the following message: The keynote for the Sabian Symbol for this New Moon from An Astrological Mandala by Dane Rudhyar reads as follows: “The need to attend to everyday tasks which both ensure social worth or respectability, and benefit one’s constitution.” Simple enough yet since this is occurring at the Solstice, the theme may prevail all year! Tune in and make 2007 a year during which you clear all unfinished business as best you can and make extra efforts in regards to your health. Is this a hint of things to come? Learn to boost your immune system and increase your overall state of health.

21st – Thursday – The Moon in Capricorn will first make a Sextile to Uranus at 4:45 am and then a conjunction to Venus at 8:05 am at which point it turns retrograde and will remain so until 1:49 pm on Friday when it enters Aquarius. Mars Squares Uranus at 4:17 pm and the Sun enters Capricorn at 4:23 pm, marking the official exact moment of the Winter Solstice. Wow, the energies of this day will prove very interesting. A balance between smooth, passive and almost sleepy energy all day, due to the Moon’s influence, yet explosively charged and potentially dangerous with the Mars/Uranus Square in the afternoon makes this a day to take extra precautions and keep it is simple as you can. I would not encourage going out for no good reasons and if you feel uneasy about driving, follow your instincts. The V/C Moon is generally not a good time for purchases, so do Christmas shopping etcetera earlier in the week if you can.

22nd – Friday – with the Moon V/C until 1:49 pm then entering Aquarius, yet with No Exact Aspects all day, this is a good one to make it a sleeper if you possibly can. If not, give yourself and others extra time to complete things. This could prove to be a very good day to tune-in to the Moon and see if you can actually notice and/or feel. Avoid shopping if you can but quality time with family and friends may prove sweet and playfully especially so as the evening progresses.

If you are really lucky and keen you may see some shooting stars by looking north throughout the night as the Ursids Meteor Shower will be active.

23rd – Saturday - The Moon in Aquarius Conjuncts Jupiter at 12:57 am then forms a Sextile to Mars at 11:36 am then forms another conjunction to Neptune at 8:51 pm. Today’s energies are something of a reverse to yesterday. The day will start out on a more excitable note with friendly faces smiling and people busily doing last minute shopping. Of course, the rush always creates its own stress. By the evening you may feel like having quality time with loved ones or to visit with a friendly atmosphere yet in a less gregarious way.
