Self Awareness and Goal Planning Strategy

Step # 1:  Brainstorm to answer these questions.  They are designed to provide you with a general sense of yourself and where your concerns and interests are centered at this time.  These questions are also designed to help you rise above your own interests and engage in a larger sphere of influence.  When we have a sense of mission in life, it helps us to generate a more positive attitude.  A clearer sense of purpose elevates us beyond alienation and into communion with our community in a more genuine way.  You will need a notebook for this exercise.  Other exercises will follow.  ( If you are really ambitious you can make the list longer, just make sure you have the same amount in each list)

List # 1:  Make a list of 10 things that you want to have in your life.

List # 2:  Make a list of 10 things you would like to see happen in the world, in your community etc.

List # 3:  Make a list of 10 personal qualities that make you unique and special.

List # 4:  Make a list of 10 things that you can do now to achieve your goals.

Step # 2:  Having generated a clearer sense of who you are and where you are currently at, use the answers from these 4 lists to create a plan of action.  Do so by creating 10 sentences from your lists.  If the logical flow of your ideas is not congruent with your lists, feel free to change the answers given in your list.  The goal is to create 10 clear sentences using the following questions as a guideline:

I will act now and....  ( list # 4 )

Using my unique ability to....  ( list # 3 )

To make a contribution to....  ( list # 2 )

And in so doing, I will also achieve....  ( list # 1 )

Step # 3:  Now that you have more clearly defined your aspirations, intentions and abilities write 10 affirmations starting with the powerful phrase I AM....  Make your affirmations as though they are already fact.  For example:

 I  Am financially abundant.

I Am erasing old limiting beliefs about myself and replacing them with new more empowering ones.

Step # 4:  Now define more precisely what you mean by your affirmation.  If you are affirming financial abundance, describe how you plan to achieve your goal.  Aim high and yet be realistic as well.

Step # 5:  Ideally you will write out these affirmations 10 times.  At least, you should memorize them and make them a aprt of your daily focus and communications.  It is especially good to do so early in the morning, late at night or while in a meditative state.  Also, whenever, you are undergoing negative inner dialogue.  Replace these inner criticisms and self doubt with these affirmations and watch their magic open up new doors in your life.
