Horoscope for the week of November 14, 2008

      He won! Barack Hussein Obama has made U.S. history becoming the first black African to become the U.S. President. After a long line, 43 in fact, of white and largely Anglo decent men we actually have a break with Tradition. That Saturn is currently forming an exact opposition aspect to Uranus and was very exact on Election Day is the synchronicity that Astrologers recognize and cite for others to recognize. Saturn is tradition and Uranus is revolution. Soon to be President Obama symbolizes this revolution. Whatever may be said or happen from this point forward, something very significant has begun signalling massive social change, indeed a new era. Exactly 77 days after the election at 12 noon on January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th U.S. President. The numerology is evidently potent, even magical, certainly synchronistic – 44, 77, (2008 = 1)….

      Astrologers will be very attentive to exactly when the swearing in ceremony occurs. A verbal oath and especially an official signature marks the first breath and the time for casting of the chart. Obama, born in Honolulu Hawaii on August 4, 1961, the first of the Generation X wave, with humble beginnings and bearing a Middle Eastern name not only won the election, he won decisively, winning a landslide victory and bringing an end to a long and painful era dubbed “Bushite”! There is much to say about this Sun Sign Leo man with Aquarius rising sign and the Moon in Gemini. A man of and for the people, Obama presents himself with poise, humility and sincerity. He does not appear to want any thing and it does not appear that he has a long line of close insider ties not to mention a shadowy and powerful father to heed and appease. Had the rest of the world been invited to vote, Obama’s victory would have been significantly more decisive. So, who is this man? We have a pretty good introduction and he certainly is now the man of the hour complete with vision of power. His integrity appears impeccable, almost too good to be true.

      Many are hopeful and in a virtual state of shock and disbelief that this change is here. Undoubtedly, there will be those who watch with stalwart vigilance. Those who voted otherwise and those who still remember the antics of 9-11, and others for other reasons yet, will not so easily admit defeat and offer their allegiances so quickly, or at all. Regardless, people the world over have reason to feel inspired by the courage, determination and appeal of Barack Obama. That his rise to power culminates in 2008, the first official 1 year of the New Millennium, brings added promise to this most important turning point in our complicated times. Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)

You are determined to go to the next level now. Having weighed a variety of important factors, you feel committed. However, you may feel your pace is obstructed, as though driving through a fog. The future is uncertain and you would like things to be more predictable. Aim to be sure and secure, on one foot, and ready for anything, on the other, and you will be as stable as you can be.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

Making the most of this time of year means tackling the projects and activities that you ‘saved for a rainy day’. Using this time to clean and clear in preparation for a new year could prove satisfying. If you are busy boosting your immune system you are really wise and on track. Financial dealings, assessments and adjustments are also likely now. Face your fears to affirm your desires.

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)

New adventures are calling. Where these offer you opportunities for education and travel you will feel most excited. As mentioned last week, pay close heed to instinctive feelings and especially to doubts about big commitments. Opportunity is knocking but you must be open to some big changes to take full advantage. Step back, see a bigger picture, tune in to your heart and let it guide you.

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)

Some learning curves are slower and some faster. You may feel that you have one of each to balance. Stabilizing your ground is the first consideration and this is the slow lesson. Awakening yourself and others to new possibilities and dreams is moving fast now and will speed-up yet, by months end especially. For now, tend to affairs close to home and rest because the games will resume soon.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)

Getting a clear vision and focus is usually the best first measure in important undertakings. Where have you been, where now, where to next? This is a good time to tidy up and tie up loose ends and perhaps to initiate new projects as well. This means preparing in mind and body including preparing your environment as well as setting your sights on important goals. Review, focus and risk!

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

New ambitions have been brewing and the time to more fully act on them is drawing near quickly. Yet, it remains importent to focus and to assess your situation. What are your skills; what streams of income are active or could be? Finances and your earning ability are high on your mind now. The economy is shaking and it may be a good time to separate your eggs. Move with the times!

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Either you are comfortable diversifying your interests or you are experiencing a very noticeable internal struggle. Getting all aspects of our mind to agree requires deep prioritization. The sands are ever shifting so we are wise to be ready for anything. Making the most of your current situation includes outlining your successes and reviewing your lessons. P.S. you are worth than you may know.

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

We are in a bear market; is this a time to sleep? Perhaps, yet with discipline and focus you can make the most of the situation. This implies new investments. The best ones, however, will be those that have a long term holding value. Do your homework now, investigate, research and assess your options. If you can pick-up some bargains why not, otherwise enjoy the slower pace.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Security means different things at different times. For you now it means change the status quo. This is a call to play with new possibilities. Be willing to learn and explore new angles of your self and/or new corners of the world you have never visited. Gaining new knowledge via a path of adventure is ideal now. Remember that life is a game and the real winners know it and play along.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)

Your power potential continues to rise steadily. The time is ripe to be in close communications with authority figures of any kind who have leverage for your advantage. Ask for favours and earned rewards and you will probably get them. If you are taking an independent approach then you are right on track. Discovering your greater power potential will take a while yet, but these are important steps!

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

An adventurous time continues. Perhaps you are exploring exotic and foreign places, at least on wings of imagination. The weight of certain responsibilities may be enough to discourage pleasure and progress. Yet, taking an adventurous and risky approach seems be a veritable duty. You might as well accept your situation; riding the waves, yet pushing deliberately where you can and must.
