Horoscope for the week of Happy New Year! The first Horoscope of the year is traditionally dedicated to offering you a sneak preview of themes for the year cycle that has just begun. 2009 will truly prove to be a year when major changes in society, government and politics and economy in general will be evident. The momentum for this has already begun. Not surprisingly, the events of late 2008 were very synchronistic with the planetary positions. Pluto in Capricorn remains the top story. Pluto is the planet of transformation and with it now in the sign of government, we will see just that. By extension, Capricorn is also symbolic of tradition and social trends in general. These will all undergo major changes while Pluto is in Capricorn between now and 2023. You can read more about it on my website in Articles. For now, I would like to bring attention to the Numerological Growth Cycle of 2009. This is a general perspective based solely on the year. The month and day can also be added to gain insight on those time periods as well. So, if 2009 is an 11/2 year, January is a 12/3 month. That 2009 = 11, or 1+1= 2, we will be experiencing the second 2 year of the New Millennium with the year 2000 itself marking the first! However, this is an 11/2 and 11 is a Master Number – corresponding with the 11 year solar flare cycle of the Sun. # 11 is basically about the following 7 things: 1) Cooperation and balance towards creating greater harmony. 2) Nurturing and commitment. 3) Establishing healthy boundaries. 4) Making new connections. 5) Balance in any and all respects and this includes discernment and establishing a new basis of priorities and a renewed foundation of values. 6) Cleaning, clearing and getting one’s papers and affairs in order and up to date. 7) Awakening, awareness, enlightenment. These seven main points are elaborated below: 1) In as much as 11 is a 2 (1+1=2), 2009 will be very much about cooperation and balance and this very much includes giving and receiving. 2 is about service of all kinds. Treating one another fairly and equally becomes more important in a two year. This can require a lot of patience. 2) Nurturing what began in the 1 year (2008). In last week’s Horoscope ( 3) Creating and establishing workable, sensible and wise boundaries is important in a 2 year. This includes time management, awareness of if and when too much is being given or not enough and the same goes for receiving. Establishing good boundaries includes knowing how and when to say yes and no. 4) Creating new connections, finding new allies, meeting more with kindred spirits are all aspects of the number 2 growth cycle. This includes networking. Club affiliations of many kinds stand to increase. With the internet now ‘securely’ in place it may soon be seen socially as a veritable necessity as opposed to convenience to be ‘connected’. 5) Creating balance on any of a variety of levels will be evident - economic balance, environmental balance, and karmic accounts. 6) Clean-up time! 11 is about clearing the closets and the clutter and settling debts. Some would interpret 11 as a payback year and there is truth in this statement as 11 is symbolic of the scales and, by extension, balance, justice, equalizing, weighing and other such discernments. Debts can be monetary, emotional, social and spiritual/karmic. 7) Seeking Enlightenment, of one kind or another is perhaps the deepest theme associated with number 11. While the spiritual overtones are clearly implied, this may also be interpreted as seeking to be more aware of self, others, circumstances and situations; or more conscious, awake, insightful and up to date on current events, trends and knowledge. Seeking experiences that will bring new realization and answers also applies. I will devote more time to these themes in up-coming Horoscopes and New Moon Newsletters. There is much more significance to Numerology than it may at first appear. Beyond intrigue in the realities of synchronicity, Numerology offers a simple and practical method of measuring key life cycles for any person. By the way, companies, cities and even nations can also be seen as ‘persons’. Astrology and Numerology is a match made in heaven, literally! Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20) Your public and professional life is in for big changes in 2009. These have already begun and include advancing your knowledge and/or skills. If you are in some kind of apprenticeship, educational training or other important learning process, then you are on track. Your social network stands to increase. So too will your intuition. Intentions to be more in-tune with yourself will bring positive results. With the extra power boost, you can also expect more responsibility reasons to commit. Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21) As the world enters the first difficult hair pin turns of a long and winding, rolling road you may feel the call to get closer to the turf. Any sort of practical thinking applies. The added responsibilities on your plate from 2009 will continue, yet you will learn to be more philosophical about it. You will still vote for closer ties and coalitions, and revolutionary action where necessary. Finding your true place and space may take a while but will be clearer by summer. Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21) The rather concentrated focus of 2008 will give way to a new found sense of freedom. Whether you were doing inner work, clearing out a past long overdue or investing somehow, these will prove much lighter. A quest for new angles and perspectives will continue. There is ever another facet of possibility when it comes to perceptions. Efforts to be free of inner doubt demons and outer issues or clutter will continue. Accept the changing status quo and meet it with imaginative possibility. Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22) Important new beginnings on relationship fronts will prove stabilizing in a whole new way. Learning to be more negotiable will prove important. So too will finding new ways to lead and delegate. New communication skills continue to rank high as well. Show integrity by listening better than ever. Facing fears and deciphering what treasures lie hidden in your own backyard will get underway. You are more than you ‘think’ you are so be willing to explore. Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23) Your skills, abilities and overall scope of knowledge will increase this year. You will pay more attention to the details. Your social network stands to increase. Be careful not to spread yourself too thin. Focus on consolidating the foundation of all you know and have. By autumn you will focus on new studies and interests. These will add to what you already know. Advancements of your position and reputation are likely. Your lifestyle will change in accordance. Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22) Your power potential will rise steadily in 2009; so too will your need to be diligent, disciplined and focused. Expect to diversify somehow. Clearing away or at least storing current interests and stuff perhaps for another day will require discernment. 2009 will prove to be the beginning of a whole new foundation of power and influence. Make efforts to prepare and establish yourself on that ground by 2010 anyway. From there you will be able to progress more steadily. Make your health a top priority! Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22) You may feel as though your foundation is dissolving somehow. This will continue in 2009. At best, you are flexible and willing. With a playful and adventurous spirit you will be able to rise above fear of the unknown. This could prove to be quite a challenging year but this is where free will and choice come forward. Accept the changes and intend to build a stronger and more flexible quality of character. Activate your spiritual warrior right away to defeat inner doubt demons and reactive fears. With the right attitude and approach, 2009 could prove very empowering indeed! Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21) As the sign of possibilities 2009 could prove to be exciting. Consider that much of what you know you have learned. We are conditioned to perceive, think and act. Of course, our core nature is ever present having its own indelible influence. The time has come to more fully access your authenticity. This includes listening well to others. This does not mean follow or believe others. It means hear them for who they are and be willing to entertain new perspectives and understand people and yourself in new ways. Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21) The entire foundation of your lifestyle will undergo changes this year. What is truly and actually important will begin to come into balance. Wherever there is excess or lack of any kind it will be shifted. You will have reasons to be more diverse with your interests and this will stimulate a more dynamic network. Realizing that you are responsible for whatever is happening in your life will prove empowering. Responsible is not a synonym for fault here. See through and beyond the delusions and distortions of blame. Create a realistic momentum now! Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19) Where there were once walls there is now a demolition process underway. Whether the restrictions are literal, psychological or circumstantial, you will aim to break on through. This is already happening now. Reaching out to meet new people and engage in new participations will prove uplifting and beneficial. You will learn that you cannot be all things to all people. A new quality of leadership is rising and this will be evident by autumn, at least the assertions to get there. Upward and onward! Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19) The many changes rippling throughout the world will lead you to pay close attention. Our challenge includes defining leadership in new ways. The time has come for a truer and deeper integrity to emerge. Humanity has allowed and enabled a lot of irresponsible activities. These will continue until they are addressed. The paradox of addressing these issues inwardly first is your challenge. In other words, we are each a part of the solution or part of the problem. Learn to access and heed your inner authority to act with humanistic vision. Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20) New work, new friends new you are all likely themes this year. You are ready for something new. You may well feel that you have earned the right to lay claim to new levels of power and influence. A soul searching process will continue for much of the year and will result in measurable shifts and changes. This will bring yet another layer of transformation. So, be willing and open to the possibilities. Aim to increase your confidence by accessing your inner authority by way of listening more attentively to your intuitive guidance. |
