Aries Horoscope : April 14 – 21, 2017

As eager as you are to advance, you may be feeling the need to slow down. Smell the flowers and the coffee. Slowing down will allow you to concentrate more fully. You have entered another cycle of experimentation. The time is right to sample but perhaps not to buy or commit, at least not in regards to the long-term.

Tip of the Week : April 14 - 21, 2017

The exciting astrological news now is the Sun conjunct Uranus at 24 Aries 26 on April 15, 2017, at 3:18 am PDT. The Sun conjuncts Uranus annually, so the exact degree of the conjunction takes on added significance. This degree shares a direct relationship with Capricorn. The energies of Uranus and Capricorn are antithetical and revolutionary. Sudden, dramatic change meets slow, sober tradition.

Since the Sun energizes whatever planet it aspects, the Uranian impulse is extra charged. Especially the build-up of the exact conjunction is charged and potent and begins about 10 days prior to exact. The violent and sudden military attacks in the Middle East combined with the mobilization of China’s military on the borders of North Korea present prime examples of this energy pattern.

Against this backdrop of major planetary alignments destined to synchronize with significant social change with global implications, Mercury and Venus have been simultaneously retrograde. Mercury turned retrograde on April 9th, the eve of the Libra Full Moon which occurred on April 10 here in the Pacific time zone so April 11th for most of the world.

The influences of the transiting near planets alone represent the ‘little story’, but one which touches us more personally. Yet, how this figures regarding the whole chart of a larger event like a conjunction or the ingress of a planet, or in a Natal Chart, for that matter, reveals their influence in context to these larger realities. This is where their importance becomes much more evident.

The comparison can be drawn between a single person and an entire country. A theme of quality over quantity arises, here, and one which reminds us that a single person can make a massive difference in the world for better or worse and there are ever examples of both. That astrology can see so deeply into a person presents a whole other discussion. No wonder it has been so dismissed, power and influence can have a much louder voice than truth and wisdom, in the political arena.
