Note: This year, I wrote a longer than usual Tip for the Year than in subsequent years which I think you will appreciate in terms of gaining deeper insight into the destined themes and trends for 2025.

Overview of Planetary Activity for 2025

Tip of the Year for 2025

The major headline for 2025 is the entry of all the far planets, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter entering New Signs!

These events together indicate that Humanity is in the process of the birthing of a whole new era, and it will prove to be much more significant than many probably realize and that few can even imagine! The lead-up stages have been underway for many years, not least of all the internet era. Yet, even it had many significant preliminary steps.

Although Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will only make brief sojourns in Aries, Gemini and Aries again, respectively, their initial entries will serve to activate some preliminary processes that will unfold much more fully in 2026

As it is, we have now arrived at another great juncture that will unfold over the next two years especially, and it is already moving fast. In the bigger picture, it is the Age of Aquarius, the sunrise moment of which is fast approaching and there are strong indications that it will officially occur at the end of this decade. In this regard, we have been the dawning process, which itself has numerous several layers to it.

In the more immediate picture, all the major planets entering new signs, right about now, from a wider angle lens. Yet, since 3 of the 5 will only do so for brief stints due to turning retrograde and retreating back into the signs they are in currently, we will not feel the full impact of this new era until later in 2026.

Even so, the very process of crossing the threshold will be eventful enough, though, and probably stressful at times as we collectively enter the unknown, and with amplified measure, with all the far planets involved. That the majority of the shifts are from female to male signs indicates increased assertiveness. Interestingly, Jupiter is in Male Gemini currently, but will enter female Cancer on June 9. Although it only lasts 1 year, (entering Leo on June 30, 2026) Jupiter in Cancer, (where it is deemed exalted serving to boost confidence and emotional resolve), will be on board just when we need it. So, pay attention to that section to gain some, perhaps needed, inspiration.

More significantly, especially in the shorter term is the cycle of Mars in Cancer.

Mars in Cancer in 2025 – The Renovator

In the shorter term, the really big news is Mars retrograde entering Cancer on January 6, 2025. Mars will turn direct almost 2 months later on February 24, yet it will take until April 18, 2025. While generally categorized as an inner or personal planet, the fact is that Mars is more accurately understood as the first of the outer planets because it is outside the orbit of Earth, whereas Mercury, Venus and the Moon too are within it.

Mars is categorized as in its ‘fall’ in Cancer. This means it is a difficult sign position because when a planet is in its ‘fall sign’, which is the opposite sign to where the planet is considered to be ‘exalted’ or in its strongest sign, which is Capricorn, aside from its natural sign of rulership, which is Aries, it tends to produce blind spots.

Positively, Mars in Cancer can be described as ‘determined to get to the bottom of things’, to remove the dead wood or anything toxic or corrupted. It can be described as the ‘renovation’ process that guts, clears, and cleans before the new building process begins.

Negatively, Mars in Cancer can prove edgy, aggressive and lacking in empathy. People tend to project their fear, frustrations, and angers at others due to unconscious reactions. Naturally, when this happens, others are prone to defend themselves, which often amounts to reactive returns of aggression, consequently culminating as conflict that is prone to violence.

Cancer is the most subjective sign of the Zodiac. Like a crab, its hard shell serves to protect its otherwise significantly vulnerable emotional feelings. Ruled by the Moon, which is strongly associated with instinctual reactions, as with fight or flight survival instincts, Cancer can indeed prove lethal and is why many professional fighters have it strongly featured in the Birth Charts.

On the high side, this emotional vulnerability is projected as and equates to capacities for deep empathy for others. On the downside, the justifications of feeling victimized can indeed manifest as unapologetic vindictiveness.

Summary Overview of Mars in 2025

On November 3, 2024 – Mars left Cancer and entered Leo. Then on December 6, 2024 – Mars turned retrograde in Leo.

So, 2025 begins with Mars in Leo…retrograde.

  • January 6 – Mars re-enters Cancer, its sign of fall, tending to manifest as emotional aggression. Positively, it can be characterized as ‘the renovator’ which while edgy and scrappy, can bring about renewal and beauty.

  • February 4 to 23 – Mars in Cancer will be the only planet retrograde. Like a solo act on the stage, it will assume greater prominence during this time.

  • April 18 – Mars re-enters Leo after 3.5 months in Cancer. Leo is a strong sign placement for Mars as it tends to be heroic, brave and loyal, like a noble soldier.

  • June 17 – Mars enters Virgo, which is also a strong placement for Mars supporting a strong work ethic. So, this period could prove extra productive if it is harnessed efficiently.

  • August 6 – Mars enters Libra, its sign of ‘detriment’ where it tends to synchronize as aggressive interactions in close, personal relationships.

  • September 22 – Mars enters Scorpio just as autumn gets underway. Combined with other factors, autumn 2025 is likely to be a very powerful push forward, with ambitions and drives running strong, even to the point of ruthlessness.

  • November 4 – Mars enters Sagittarius. Mars can be understood as a ‘fire’ planet, so when it is in fire signs, which Sagittarius is, its overall energy level increases and is often supported by a spirit of adventure and enthusiasm.

  • December 15 – Mars ends the year, exalted in Capricorn. What makes it so strong in the sign of career and public status is that Aries and Capricorn are ‘Cardinal’ signs, which are symbolic of proactive initiative and action, and it also supports the giving and receiving of instruction of all kinds, so is also conducive to progress.

2025 Will be a Year of Foreshadows of the Bigger Events Destined for 2026

Since 2025 is a Universal 9-Year, it is likely that Mars in Cancer combined with other factors will more fully ‘set the stage’ for the bigger rebuilding process that will take place in 2026, in alignment with the Universal 1-Year that it equates to, marking the beginning of a new 9-Year Cycle.

As significant as 2025 is destined to be, in light of 2026, it will more fully prove to be a preparatory year and the events and processes can be described more fully as ‘foreshadows’ of the much larger events and stronger momentum of 2026, which itself will take time to build momentum. Thus, before the major thrust of the new comes pouring in, the old will have to be cleared to make way for it, and it will be, indeed, through 2025 and even into 2026. Yet, what will produce a good deal of… excitement, will be the signs and literal announcements of what some networks ‘have planned’ for us all.

In the final analysis, the greater plan and the deeper destiny in store for us all will prevail. Thus, it is between the realities of the greater plan and that of those who assume to know it, that the next 18 months will largely prepare the ground.

The gap between the deeper reality of destiny in store by the higher powers that be of the collective mind of humanity, and the interpretations of those who deem it their destiny, right, and purpose to implement their agendas, that the drama will unfold, and while it is already underway, these are just the mini-clips before the real show begins on January 6, 2025

These foreshadowing events of the coming new era will likely prove to be progressively more complex in 2025, culminating in summer and leading to what appears to manifest as the foundations of major new beginnings in autumn. Pluto in Aquarius is making the initial inroads, and its synchronistic activity is already, and will continue to be like dynamite blowing through the rock in the mountain, and clearing anything else in the way that no longer aligns with the greater, destined process.

Saturn in Pisces is contributing to this clearing, if less dramatically and more fully like a steady disintegration. It entered Pisces in March 2023, and although it will enter Aries this spring for several months, it will retrograde back into Pisces in late summer where it will remain until late spring 2026. Neptune and Uranus will also retreat back into Pisces and Taurus respectively.

When far planets enter new signs, only to retrograde back into the previous sign for a while before engaging in its full charge transit through the sign, the influences of the new sign are moderate, probably due to the fact that the planet is moving slowly and does not have time to accelerate. In this regard, the initial entry is akin to seeds being planted, which do not signs of growth for a while. Then the retrograde period can be likened to the time required for the seeds to germinate. Then when the planet re-enters the sign, the sprouts begin to appear. So, while the seeds are active, observances of their eventual, destined influence can be described as subtle, yet some paying close attention will notice, again if subtly and speculatively.

The march of re-entry in 2026 will begin with Neptune. Interestingly, as the planet symbolic of imagined ideals like a clarion call piercing the air since its re-entry will be in pioneering, assertive, Aries. This will occur on January 26/27, 2026, which is a Universal 1-Year, thus marking the start of a new 9-Year cycle.

Neptune will then be followed by Saturn on February 13/14 and finally by Uranus on April 25/26, 2026. These dates are outlined to provide a longer-term perspective on the preparatory processes involved, highlighted by Universal 9-Year 2025, the number of endings, completions and graduations, followed by Universal 1-Year 2026. Can you see the dynamic more clearly now?

Pluto already in Aquarius is generating a proactive drive with all the torque of the 4th Fixed Sign that it is. In Aquarius, Pluto’s influence requires us to step out of our isolation into collectives where team spirits culminate to exponential and transcendental levels where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Jupiter will be in Cancer as of late spring supporting boosts of confidence in the overall dynamic, at both individual and collective levels, for better or worse, since confidence can inspire antagonists as much as heroes…

So, this overview alone should be enough to provide you with the awareness needed to observe the destined, synchronicities at play. Among the main points here is to help you see that the unfoldment of events is not merely random and based on circumstances and free will choices alone. Synchronicity or the meaningfulness of the flow of events is based on the realization that the universe or existence is consciousness made manifest and that it is woven with purpose, which we otherwise refer to as destiny, at both collective and individual levels.

Interestingly, free will is a core feature of this purposeful destiny. Free will is like constructing boats to sail across oceans, while destiny is akin to the world with oceans, currents, and tides…

The Lunar Nodes from Aries and Libra to Pisces and Virgo in 2025

The shift of the Lunar North Node into Pisces occurs on January 11, 2025 and the approximate 18-month cycle ends in late July 2026.  The fact that the Lunar Nodes will change signs from Aries and Libra to Pisces and Virgo adds ironic complexity to the plot.  While Aries is the ‘first’ sign of new beginnings and pioneering initiatives, Pisces is the ‘twelfth’ or last sign.

The Aries-Libra axis had a lot to do with bringing more definition to our individuality and need for independence. The Aries impulse tends to be straightforward and matter-of-fact.

Pisces, on the other hand, is everything but straightforward. This is one of the reasons that the Fishes are often depicted as swimming in opposite directions. It reminds us that we are both personality and soul. Pisces is about accessing the deeper reaches of our being; breaking rigid patterns and remembering that beneath the day-to-day drama there rests the inner being and purpose of our life.

Where Aries is about new beginnings and pioneering initiatives, Pisces is symbolic of dreams, imagination, idealism, and mysticism, among its more positive attributes. Negatively, Pisces symbolizes illusions, delusions, denials, escapism, addictions, and a general mode of rejection of materiality and practicality.

Summary Overview of the North Node in Pisces:

When the North Node is in Pisces, the destiny call is to see through and beyond appearances. From a soul level you must learn to dissolve mental and emotional patterns which, for the sake of security, you developed.  Your destiny is to learn that imagination and inspiration are just as important, if not more so, than logic and facts, yet these too can become over-emphasized, so discernment of the middle ground is the ideal. Recognize that nature unfolds in cycles with or without intervention and successful participation in the processes of nature requires awareness, respect, cooperative adaptation, and gratitude; gratitude for being a part of the drama of life, at all…  Develop faith that life as a whole is intelligent, purposeful, creative, and loving and that the key is to attune to its rhythms to achieve communion with all that is, both within and without.

The outlines below encompassing themes for each sign of the Zodiac destined to occur in 2025 offer a glimpse of what each factor outlined above might produce for each of us at a personal level.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Mars in Cancer through Capricorn in 2025 

With Mars in cancer, winter and much of spring too could prove tumultuous close to home. Whether within or without, or perhaps even both, according to your deeper destiny, you will be pushing, or pushed by outer circumstances, to get to the bottom of things, to root out what no longer works or serves, and perhaps to prepare to replace it. That work will begin as early as late April with Mars in Leo supporting your resolve handsomely. Yet, this period could also prove fun and playful. By mid-June when Mars enters Virgo, you should expect to definitely get back to work, and even more ardently than before. August through to Equinox is likely to bring relationship dynamics into sharper view, probably with a definitive edge on the airwaves. If you are successful, you will cruise into autumn, but if you procrastinate and resist, things could get explosive, perhaps especially on relationship fronts. Either way, your passions and ambitions will soar as autumn progresses you could be up there soaring with the eagles when Mars transits Sagittarius in November and, all being well, you will end the year full of power and resolve ready to launch stealthily into 2026.

The Eclipses of 2025

March 13/14 – Total Lunar Eclipse at 23 Virgo 57: This eclipse will get your thought wheels turning. With Mercury turning retrograde while in Aries, you could feel compelled to speak directly. With Mars also in Aries at the time, it could cause trouble.

March 29 – Partial Solar Eclipse at 9 Aries 00: Expect a boost of energy and resolve. Yet, you may have to contend with emotional undertows and their reactive drag.

September 7, 2025 – Total Lunar Eclipse at 15 Pisces 25: This one might not register so strongly, but it could trigger your spider senses more fully, so you may have to guard against picking up on other people’s psyche, for better or worse.

September 25, 2025 – Partial Solar Eclipse at 29 Virgo 05: You should be prepared to work on yourself for the sake of your relationships and to build, sustain, and perpetuate harmony. But don’t expect quick fixes. Rather aim for a longer-term process of upgrading your overall operating system. The key to doing so is to think with your heart and feel with your mind.

Mars in Cancer through Capricorn in 2025 

Mars in Cancer could manifest as heightened energy levels supporting a determined resolve to get a jump on 2025. At deeper levels, it implies more fully considering how and why you perceive reality as you do. Mars entering Leo in late April through mid-June will lead you to double down, yet creatively and with an eye to making beautiful improvements. Mars in Virgo through to early August marks a time when you might want to play hard and work easy, but don’t overdo it and it could prove costly on relationship fronts, which could require more time and attention through late summer into autumn. Mars in Scorpio through October will activate your passions, for better or worse. Working to get things done without abrasion on relationship fronts will be the challenge into fall 2025 and you might just break through it all by year’s end. When in Sagittarius through November and December, your ambitions will rise measurably and you could well end the year on a high note, as long as you tended to this relationship fronts effectively when it was time. 2025 could be very productive, but you need to have a plan.

March 29 – Partial Solar Eclipse at 9 Aries 00: Activations from deep within will come to the surface as creative ideas about how to make improvements and refinements wherever it makes sense.

September 7, 2025 – Total Lunar Eclipse at 15 Pisces 25: Your imagination will be activated and it will spill over into your perspectives on the world.

September 25, 2025 – Partial Solar Eclipse at 29 Virgo 05: Making creative improvements is a prevalent theme in 2025 and it will continue through winter and spring 2026. There is a saying, we tend to overestimate what we can achieve in a day or even a week, but we can also underestimate what we can achieve in a year. Make a to-do list.

With the North Node in Pisces, you will learn to strike a balance between being personal and impersonal. From a soul level, you must learn to participate in the world, as one among equals; neither standing above or below any other. This could also include a summons to serve a special mission. Your destiny is to learn detachment, not in the sense of indifference, but of acceptance of the realities of life beyond status and hierarchies. Recognize the value of friendship and unity that promotes shared ideals and democratic behavior. Develop a sense of Universality and appreciation for the rights, freedoms, and creative genius of individuals and groups everywhere, and in so doing, you will find your true self.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Mars in Cancer through Capricorn in 2025 

An ardent push to increase your sense of security will guide your focus this winter and through early spring while Mars transits Cancer. With Mars in Leo, new inspirations igniting your energy levels will support an active and dynamic push through to summer 2025. When Mars enters Virgo in mid-June, you will dig even deeper into projects close to home, which could include renovations along with other major projects through much of summer. An adventurous spirit woven with romance and an urge to play will rise as August progresses and through to equinox with Mars in Libra. A passionate push to get back to work, guided by ambitions will keep you busy through October is the call with Mars in Scorpio. If travel is available in November, you will push for it. Otherwise, smaller adventures will have to suffice when Mrs transits Sagittarius. All being well, your fun and adventure tanks will be filled by December and you will be that much keener to get back to business, a mood that will also see you into 2026.

September 7, 2025 – Total Lunar Eclipse at 15 Pisces 25: You want to be seen, heard and acknowledged, but you are also camera shy and do not want undue attention; a tricky combination.

September 25, 2025 – Partial Solar Eclipse at 29 Virgo 05: Inspirations to engage in arts and crafts will continue through the coming winter.

With the North Node in Pisces, you will learn to assume a position of responsibility and/or authority in the eyes of the world, yet it could also include the need to surrender what once was to what is. From a soul level you must learn to mature on both inner and outer levels. Your destiny is to learn to express your feelings with integrity, order, and respect for the needs and rights of others. Recognize that the bounty of our harvest is to meet the needs of the family of our community and country and that your own family is but one cell in the greater body of the collective. Develop a sense of loyalty to causes and movements that serve larger purposes than those of your own.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Mars in Cancer through Capricorn in 2025 

Mars in your sign and retrograde early on in 2025 will prompt you to do inner work on yourself for the sake of increasing harmony on relationship fronts. Your willingness and ability to see yourself more objectively is the key to your success in this regard. Towards mid-spring your focus will turn to more practical matters, yet guided by creativity and new designs with Mars in Leo. With Mars in Virgo, your energy levels should continue running high as summer begins and could even inspire you to embark on new adventures beyond the perimeters of usual rhythms and horizons.
