This Master Class stands on its own as relevant and useful knowledge of foundational principles of Astrology that will not be easily found elsewhere in this arrangement, if at all. It will provide you with a wide, solid foundation for both the Moon Cycle Club and my Calendar Astrology Course.
The relationship between Earth and the Sun, and the Moon is foundational to Astrology. The obviousness of this fact is clear, yet few people really have a thorough foundation of the basics. This is probably due to the politics of power in the world associated with the notion that Astrology is not a science, and the true science is that of Astronomy. This reductionistic attitude is political, not factual, and is a feature of the deeper philosophical implications of the various paradigms of perception.
Basically, Astrology is a feature of Holism, while modern Astronomy is currently strictly listed under the heading of Science, which the short version of Scientific Materialism.
While this Master Class is not about the political environment that perpetuates this perceptual power struggle of paradigms, it serves to clarify the fact that Astrology is founded on the reality of experiential, perceptual reality, which places the observer(s) at the center of the experiment. Honoring the subjectivity of perception, as opposed to the traditional aspiration of modern science to achieve pure objectivity, (which requires removing the subject from the experiment, which it cannot and which arguably constitutes the single most important contribution to modern science by Albert Einstein)… Astrology is founded on the deeper implications of the very principle of perception itself.
Of course, perception is directly associated with consciousness, and the difference between the Holistic and the Scientific Paradigms is that Holism maintains that existence itself is the consequence of consciousness, while Scientific Materialism asserts that consciousness is a consequence of existence.
The purpose of this Master Class with Michael is to gain a solid understanding of the experiential relationship between the Earth, Sun, and Moon and the various realities and astrological techniques that stem from it. These will serve to empower you with this foundational knowledge to support your ability to both, be able to think more clearly about these realities, and to support your ability to make practical use of the various techniques associated with them.
It will effectively constitute ‘Part 1 of The Astronomy of Astrology‘, which will be a subsequent Master Class. You will also learn more about the bridge between the archetypal symbolism of Astrology as a feature of Holism and what is otherwise categorized under the heading of Astronomy. Prior to the Scientific Revolution, Astronomy and Astrology were closely related, and while astronomical principles remain at the center of Astrology, modern Astronomy has effectively divorced itself from Astrology and unscientifically denies the influences it measures. Thus, a thread of historical evolution of modern civilization will tie it all together.
